Random_Joke::
[11/23/2003 01:22:33 PM]::[Brandon ] I worked pretty much all of yesterday and a few hours this morning to redesign the site. I don't know why I did, I just felt like it. I also decided that I'd give php a try, so I learned a bit and implemented some of it on my new design. The most notable thing is the addition of a comment tag board on every page that let's users comment on what they see. Not that I have any users, but I can go through it and post like I'm someone else. That'll help my self-esteem I'm sure. I'm going to go cry now.

[11/18/2003 10:23:05 PM]::[Brandon ] OK, I reworked some of the stuff for the simple, simple particle system applet that I posted yesterday. Wait, I mean today. I just think it was yesterday because it was late at night, err, I mean early in the morning. I'm so confused. Just look at the damned thing if you care.
For those interested (that's just me), I noticed that my random velocity generator didn't necessarily make circular shapes, but squares. This aggravated me as I am aggravated easily at myself. So, I quickly did some calculations and came up with this...
[code] double velocity = Math.random()*5; //5 is the scale factor to limit the velocity double angle = Math.random()*360; //Choose a random degree _xVel = vel*Math.cos(Math.toRadians(angle)); //Determine the x velocity using right triangles _yVel = vel*Math.sin(Math.toRadians(angle)); //Do the same for y velocity
[/code]
And everyone always scorns at trig! Also, I fixed the Particle class to make it more precise in its coordinates and found a nice set of values to make it look pretty.

[11/18/2003 01:42:57 PM]::[Brandon ] I've been a Farker for a long time now (#5280, suck it) and I have always wanted to see my hometown get mentioned on Fark. I had a big surprise today when I clicked on this link. I'm so happy, I think I'm going to cry. Too bad they screwed up on the article (Chris Davis is judge in Alto/Wells, not Rusk). They also quoted some stupid stuff that made him look stupid. Oh well.
I finished my CS 1315 Assignment today. There was nothing special about it. I'm only saying it to see if anyone reads this. Raise your hand if you actually wasted your time and read this. Now I'm just wasting time and webspace. Why don't I just stop typing? I don't know. I can't help myself!

[11/18/2003 01:07:53 AM]::[Brandon ] I was trying to add a java applet that I wrote a little bit ago to the site, but it seems that I can't remember the password for the NetFirms server. Funny, eh? Well, at any rate, I guess it's time that I switch servers once more and go to my UTDallas.edu site. It's free and it's easy. And, I won't be running the risk of getting legal action for breaking the Netfirms ToS by hiding their shiatty little ad-bar.
But then again, I'm lazy, and no one reads this at any rate. Why the hell am I wasting my time? [Goes to sleep]

[11/6/2003 10:39:58 PM]::[Brandon ] I just returned from a free showing at UTD of the Margaret Cho: Revolution show. Man, was I ever disappointed and aggravated.
I'm not the kind of guy that gets easily offended, especially when it comes to comedy. As long as it's funny, I don't care about it. The problem with this politically-edged show is that it isn't even all that funny. With fifteen minute rants on the current state of US politics without a single joke, it gets old quick. Margaret Cho, in the words of one reviewer, is "So far left that she makes Al Franken look like Rush Limbaugh." I don't consider myself conservative, but even I was getting tired of her view of politics. Note to Margaret, I came for comedy, not for a one-sided political agenda! At the end of her hour long show (which was actually cut short from what I am hearing), Margaret decided that in all her wisdom, she would have a question and answer session about politics, showbusiness or whatever. Many people, tired of hearing her endless political rants without being able to respond, decided this would be a good time to exit and let her be. Were we EVER surprised. As we're leaving (I would estimate about half the audience), she begins to go off on everyone. "Fuck you all! Rude motherfuckers! I don't leave when you're talking to me dammit!" and so on and so forth.
Listen dip! I've listened to your liberal bullshit for ONE HOUR without being told I would have to! I wanted a comedian, and got Jesse Jackson! Don't tell ME to "fuck off" when I am expressing my opinion of your show in the only way I can, by WALKING OUT. Screw you and your "comedy show." Racist bitch.
And you know what, fuck YOU Margaret Cho!
